Frequently Asked Questions

How does a digital sewing pattern work?

Elbe Textiles sewing patterns are in PDF format and delivered within a zip folder.

After purchasing a pattern, it’s instantly available to download and save onto your desktop or laptop computer.

There are 2 options for printing:

A home printing version – where the patterns can be printed out as tiles onto A4 or Letter size paper. These pages will need to be trimmed and assembled together using glue or sticky tape. You do not need a special type of printer for this.

Or, a large format version that can be taken to a copy shop. These are usually A0 size.

Every pattern purchase includes a section called 'Printing and Assembling' that will guide you through the process.

I have also made a comprehensive guide on how to access your pattern - see the blog post here.

I ordered a pattern but I can’t find where it’s been sent?

After purchasing a pattern, an email with a link to download the pattern will be sent instantly to the email address you provided at checkout. If you can’t see it in your inbox, it may have gone straight to your junk/spam folder.

If you paid using Paypal, the email will be sent to the address linked to your Paypal account. If you discover afterwards that it’s an email you no longer use, please get in touch with me – lauren@elbetextiles.com.au

You can also stay on the page after ordering your pattern, and the files will be ready within a few seconds (on the left half of the screen).

I can’t open the zip folder?

All digital patterns are delivered within a zip folder to save on file space. Unfortunately, smart phones, iPads and tablets sometimes cannot open zip folders, so it is recommended to save and open your files on either a desktop or laptop computer.

I’m looking for a particular pattern but it’s no longer on your website?

I am going through my older patterns and taking them off my website as I expand my size range. Some designs will not make it back (for various reasons), so please get in touch if there’s a specific pattern you’re looking for and would like to know if it’s returning or not.

Can I use your patterns for my own sewing business?

These sewing patterns are for personal use only. They’re not to be used for commercial purposes.

Can I use your sewing pattern to teach a class with?

Definitely! Please just make sure every student purchases their own copy. Or if you’re buying in bulk, you’re welcome to get in touch for a wholesale rate. Email me at lauren@elbetextiles.com.au to discuss.

Can I share these patterns with others?

No, please ensure your friend buys their own copy! I am a small business (it's just me) and every purchase helps keep me running. Please support small business.

What is your return policy?

As these are digital products, they are unable to be returned.

Do you have sales?

I provide a discount code to my email subscribers for new pattern releases though. So if you’d like to stay in the loop on new pattern releases and receive this discount, please sign up to my newsletter at the bottom on my website home page.

What is your size range?

It varies between patterns. Check the Shop section of my website as each pattern will have the relevant size chart pictured in the images. I am in the process of expanding the size range for certain patterns to get them all to the same level.

Do you have printed patterns?

Not yet! But possibly a plan for the future.

Do the patterns include seam allowance?

Yes. Every pattern includes seam allowance and the amount will be noted within the instructions and/or on the sewing pattern.
