Hey mates, I've had some requests for sleeves for the Gibbons Slip Dress.
So, here we are!
If you haven't gotten yourself a copy of the dress pattern, you can find it here.
This is View A in viscose sandwash twill from The Fabric Store, worn with the Somerfield Coat in a silk georgette, also from The Fabric Store (coat pattern available here).
I loved how the Somerfield Coat sewing pattern looking with the dress, so I actually used this sleeve as a base, and altered the sleeve head slightly to fit the grading of the Gibbons Slip Dress.
I've got two printing options available. Click on the text below to download.
I've written down some quick instructions on the pattern sheets but will add them down below too.
This sleeve has been designed to fit into the Gibbons Slip Dress.
The original pattern is sleeveless, so there are no notches on the arm hole of the pattern pieces.
The notch in the centre of the sleeve head is to be matched to the shoulder seam.
One notch on the sleeve is to indicate the front, the double notch is to indicate the back.
This sleeve can be sewn in flat at Step 5, page 17 instead of binding the arm hole
or
it can be inserted as a set in sleeve at Step 8 after the side seams have been sewn.
Use a narrow double rolled hem to finish the sleeve off.
Easy as! Enjoy your new sleeves.
